Children

Here you see a list of all children and their class level for the school year currently used. Two columns are school year specific:

When a new school year is created, only those children will be counted for the next school year, that are still in school in the new school year (if the system can derive that information from the class level of a child - if this field is not set, then the child will always be created for the next school year).

[Important]Important

Children can only be created when creating or editing parents, to ensure that every child is assigned to parents!

Editing children

Here the data of a child and its class level for the school year can be entered. You can also upload an image which in a future could be used e.g. for the printing of badges for the canteen or any other services.

Deleting children

When you delete children for a certain school year, only the school year relevant data are deleted and the children disappear from the list for that school year.

[Important]Important

Any data of these children from other school years are not affected by this deletion.

A child cannot be deleted for a certain school year if the child is still registered for any services or courses in that school year.

Only if no child information exists for other school years, a child dataset is completely deleted.

Geocoding and route calculation to school

If yo select various children in the children list and click on the button "Map", the system will open a new window where you see a map with a mark (the childs name, address and parents names are shown when moving the mouse over a mark) for the parents' address of each child.

When you click the button "Route to school" in the detailed screen of a chdil, a new window opens, showing a map including the route from the parents address to the school.

[Important]Important

The school's address must have been entered in the preferences, otherwise the system cannot calculate the distance and cannot show you the route to the school.

Send a mass email to the parents of many children

If you want to send a mass email to the parents of many children, select the children in the list and click on the email icon on top of the list. A window pops up where you can write and send the email. Parents will only receive one email, even if they have many children.

[Tip]Tip

If you want to send an email e.g. to the parents of all children, it can be helpful to change the "number of lines shown in a list" in your personal profile, then come back to the list of children (even if the loading can now take a while) and then select all of them. This is the quickest way to address all parents.

Do not forget to change back the "number of lines shown in a list" in your personal profile.
