The data transfer over the Internet is encrypted as it works over a SSL protocol (= HTTPS). Any passwords stored in the system are encrypted in the database and not even readable for a database administrator. Passwords are never sent back to you to the browser to avoid this security breach.

A backup of the database is made every 24 hours. The backup is stored on a special backup server in an encrypted file.
